NAME
gid - return the numeric group-id (GID) of a group

WA2L/edrc
DESCRIPTION
return the numeric group-id (GID) of a given group.
If the group does not exist on the system (or in an equivalent
coming from some server somewhere) an empty string is returned.
OPTIONS

print usage message.
- groupname

name of an existing group on the system.
